Another item you might like to purchase is one of the beautiful painted umbrellas, which are produced in Bassein and in Pindaya. Loose precious stones - such as rubies, emeralds and jade - and jewelry are sold in government shops or through licensed shops, especially in Yangon and Mandalay.
