Phonnsavanh is Laos' most mountainous regions. One of the last mysteries of Asia lies here: the " Plain of Jars". Despite many existing theories and speculations archaeologists still haven't found the real meaning and function of these countless, earthenware huge stone jars (up to eight feet high) lying scattered over the plateau. Although many jars were destroyed by the American bombings, an excursion to this territory of the Hmong minority is still very worthwhile.
