Sittwe
Sittwe is the province of Rakhine State, situated to the west of Myanmar. Sittwe is a Muslim city in a largely Buddhist country. This small city has two museums of interest and huge local fish market that is intriguing. The main attraction is the excursion upriver to reach the ancient former capital of Mrauk Oo.

Mrauk Oo, once a center for one of Myanmar's most powerful kingdoms, Mrauk Oo straddles the banks of Aungdat Chaung, a tributary of the Kaladan River. The Rakhaing King Minzawmun founded Mrauk U in 1433. A network of Chaungs allowed access by large boats, even ocean-going vessels.
